A Perfect Property Partnership - Guest Speaker: Graham Duff

Come along tonight to listen to Graham Duff, an experienced property investor of over 30 years. Graham will tell you how he got started in property investment and his successful investing story and strategy. Graham will also describe the benefits of having clear investment plans, and the importance of having support during your investing career.

Graham is the current president of the HB Property Investors Association, he will also discuss the importance of treating your property investments as a business, treating your tenants as customers, and the benefits of mixing with fellow investors.

Land Lording in NZ - Guest Speaker: Brian Kerr
Brian Kerr is a property investor and current President of the Marlborough Property Investors Association. Brian has 16 years experience working as a tenancy mediator for the Department of Building & Housing and he continues to give advice and run seminars on residential renting. Brian has seen examples of both the best and worst of landlording and he will share some of his extensive knowledge with you during this meeting.
Brian has also recently written a book called "The Complete Guide to Land Lording" which will be available for purchase at the meeting.

Guest Speaker - Steve Brown (Alteration Specialists)
Steve Brown is the director of Alteration Specialists and Professional House Inspections and has been involved in residential renovation work for 30 years. This experience has given him insights into how people use houses and what alterations work best.

Steve will talk about how residential alterations can add value to existing homes, with specific reference to how this can improve both rentability and yields for investment properties. Steve also calls on his experience in alteration work and in fixing leaky buildings to assist in identifying the weathertightness of houses during pre-purchase property inspections, and he will discuss relevant aspects of this work.

Guest Speaker - Nancy Caiger
Nancy is president of the Waikato PIA and was the winner of the DBH Landlord of the Year award in 2010. Nancy has been investing for the past 18 years as a long term buy and hold investor who focuses on positive cash flow. She has also recently started investing in the US market where she has purchased some properties with amazing net returns. Nancy says the opportunities are excellent and expects that her focus will be in this sector for the next few years.
